I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love horror movies, but finding the perfect horror movie for Saturday night is such a pain. I’ve lost the count of how many times I have googled “Top 10 horror movies”, “Horror movies that will haunt me for life”, “Please tell me some horror movies”, only to get disappointed later. But oh well, here’s the list of movies I think you all ought to watch and I promise you won’t get disappointed.
The Conjuring
The chances are that you have already watched this movie, but if you have not, behold, you have got yourself a popcorn-spiller movie booked for the next Saturday night. It’s a clichéd horror movie set in 70’s about a woman stuck in a haunted house possessed by a devil with all the door slamming, clock stopping, dogs barking, kids talking to imaginary people, whispers in the night… you know the stuff.

“Trapped. No mercy. No escape. No one gets out alive.”
Here’s to the gore-horror lovers. A deadly scenario; a bunch of people get trapped in a building where a rage-type virus has been unleashed and authorities have quarantined them to die. Perfect. Film is loaded with tension and “scare jumps”. It’s the last 30 minutes that will creep you out for life. Also, it’s no disney movie, so don’t expect a happy ending.I highly RECommend you people (there’s also a remake of this movie by the name ‘Quarantine’).
Paranormal Activity series.
All the PA movies start with a happy family living in a beautiful house, a family member having a weird camera obsession, everything is perfect in their life except that there’s a demon residing with them. Cool, right? the best thing about this series is that they stress more on scary things than on blood-gore-violence which I personally think is more terrifying. Also, it’s totally okay to scream “Why don’t you move out of your house already!?” between the movies.
28 Days/Weeks later
It’s a treat for gore-lovers. The story goes like, a man wakes up from a coma and finds himself in a deserted hospital and later as it turns out, in a deserted city. Soon finds some survivors and then sets on a journey to some military camps to survive further. Zombies Zombies Smash Blood Smash Zombie Blood. Yes, movie in a nutshell. Have a great time.
I would not say it’s specifically terribly frightening movie, but it’s a very interesting and thrilling court room drama movie. Also, it’s based on a real story (makes it more frightening automatically, doesn’t it?). If you have watched the above 5, try AmityVille horror, Nightmare at the elm street, Oculus, The Rite, Dawn of the dead.
